Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine the active dry yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mixing Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, melted butter, ube extract, and the egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Kneading
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Filling Preparation
- 5
Prepare Chocolate Filling
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate. Let it sit for 2 minutes and then stir until smooth.
Bun Assembly
- 6
Shape Buns
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small circle.
- 7
Add Filling
Place a teaspoon of chocolate filling in the center of each dough circle. Gather the edges of the dough and pinch them together to seal.
- 8
Second Rise
Place the filled buns on a lined baking sheet, cover with a cloth, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Baking
- 9
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 10
Bake Buns
Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Sea Salt Cream Preparation

Serving
- 12

Once the buns are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before serving with a dollop of sea salt cream on top.
