Method
Dumpling Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix the Dough
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while stirring with a fork until the mixture comes together.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Pork Filling Preparation
- 3
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, green onions, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- 4
Prepare Filling
Cover the filling with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes for the flavors to meld.
Dumpling Assembly
- 5
Roll the Dough
After resting, divide the dough into small pieces (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each piece out into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.
- 6
Fill the Dumplings
Place a teaspoon of the pork filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
Cooking the Dumplings
- 7
Steam the Dumplings
Prepare a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and place the dumplings in it, leaving space between each. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until the pork is cooked through.
- 8
Serve
Serve the dumplings hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
