Dumpling Dough

Dipping Sauce

Method

Dumpling Dough

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add the water while mixing with your hands until a rough dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Filling

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In another bowl, combine the ground pork, finely chopped Napa cabbage, green onion, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Fill the Dumplings

After the dough has rested, divide it into small pieces and roll each piece into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly, creating a half-moon shape. Ensure there are no air pockets.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Dumplings

Boil a large pot of water. Once boiling, add the dumplings and cook for about 6-8 minutes or until they float to the surface. Alternatively, you can steam the dumplings for about 10-12 minutes. Remove and let them cool slightly before serving.

Dipping Sauce

  1. 5

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili oil. Add chopped green onion for garnish. Serve alongside the dumplings.
