Method

Dumpling Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, mix the ground pork, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and pepper until well combined. Set aside.

Dumpling Assembly

  1. 3

    Shape the Dumplings

After resting, divide the dough into small pieces (about 1-inch balls). Roll each piece into a circle about 3 inches in diameter. Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal.

Cooking the Dumplings

  1. 4

    Cook the Dumplings

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings and cook for about 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface. Alternatively, you can steam the dumplings for about 15 minutes.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, chili oil, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
