Apple Cake Ingredients

Method

Apple Cake Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brown Butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to foam. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine the brown butter, sugar, eggs, oat milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped dates.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla-date ice cream.
