Method

Prepare bottle and water

1

Sanitize bottle

If using a reusable bottle, wash it with hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Optionally sanitize by filling with boiling water for 1 minute, then pour out and let cool slightly. Ensure cap is clean as well.

2

Filter and chill water

If your source is tap water, run it through a countertop filter or pitcher filter to remove chlorine and particulates. For the freshest taste, chill the filtered water in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before bottling, or use cold filtered water directly.

Assemble bottled water

3

Place any optional additions into the bottle first: add ice cubes if desired (they will dilute as they melt), then add lemon slices and mint leaves if using. For electrolyte water, add the measured electrolyte powder or a pinch of salt and a small pinch of sugar and stir or shake to dissolve.

4

Pour the chilled filtered water into the bottle, leaving a small air gap at the top (about 1–2 cm) to allow for cap closure without overflow.

5

Cap the bottle tightly. If using citrus or herbs for flavor, let the bottle sit in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to allow subtle infusion. For immediate drinking, shake gently and open.

6

Label the bottle if desired (e.g., date prepared or flavor) and store chilled. Consume within 24–48 hours for best flavor when using fresh additions (lemon, mint) or within a week if only filtered water and a thoroughly sanitized bottle were used.

Serving

7

Serve chilled. If ice was added and you prefer less dilution, pour water into a glass over fresh ice and discard the bottle ice. Re-cap bottle between uses to maintain freshness.
