Method

Fruit

  1. 1

    Wash and prepare fruit

Rinse all fruits thoroughly under cold running water. Pat dry with clean kitchen towels or paper towels. Hull the strawberries (remove green tops) and cut larger strawberries in half or quarters to yield about 2 cups.

  2. 2

    Prep grapes and melons

Remove grapes from stems and discard any bruised ones. Cube cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, and watermelon into bite-sized pieces (roughly 1-inch cubes). Aim for uniform pieces so presentation and mouthfeel are consistent.

  3. 3

    Peel and slice kiwis

Peel the kiwis with a paring knife or spoon and slice into rounds or half-moons according to preference.

  4. 4

    Combine fruits

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the strawberries, red and green grapes, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, pineapple, and kiwi. Toss carefully with a large spoon or spatula to avoid crushing softer fruits.

Optional finishing & serving

  1. 5

Make dressing (optional): In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice and honey or agave until blended. If using salt, stir it in now. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.

  2. 6

Dress the fruit (optional): Drizzle the lime-honey mixture over the combined fruit and gently toss to coat evenly. Use sparingly so juices don't accumulate excessively.

  3. 7

Chill and garnish: Cover the bowl and chill the fruit for at least 15–30 minutes to let flavors meld (optional). Before serving, transfer to a serving bowl or individual plates. Garnish with fresh mint leaves. Serve chilled.

  4. 8

Storage: Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days for best texture. Stir gently before serving; fruit may release some juice.
