Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken tenderloins dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Prepare the Wet Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg until combined.
- 4
Batter the Chicken
Dip each chicken tenderloin into the wet mixture, then coat with the dry mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Chicken Strips
Carefully place the battered chicken strips into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F or 75°C).
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce and side.
