Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the rib eye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30-60 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Meat

Generously season both sides of the steaks with kosher salt and black pepper, pressing the seasoning into the meat.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottom pan over high heat. Add olive oil and allow it to heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steaks

Place the seasoned steaks in the hot pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them for a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steaks and add garlic cloves and fresh rosemary to the pan. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time for desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Baste the Steaks

Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the hot oil and juices for added flavor.

  7. 7

    Rest the Meat

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the rib eye against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
