Method

Prepare the Potatoes

  1. 1

    Bake the Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Prick each potato several times with a fork. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and bake for about 45-60 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 2

    Prepare Toppings

While the potatoes are baking, prepare the toppings. Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it. Shred the cheddar cheese, chop the scallions, and set out the sour cream and butter.

Assemble the Baked Potato Station

  1. 3

    Set Up the Station

Once the potatoes are done baking, let them cool for a few minutes. Cut a slit in the top of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to open them up. Place the baked potatoes on a serving platter and arrange the toppings in bowls nearby. Allow guests to customize their baked potatoes with their favorite toppings.
