Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the rib eye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the rib eye steak with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over high heat until it's very hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned rib eye steak in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Butter

Flip the steak and add butter and fresh rosemary to the skillet. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, basting the steak with the melted butter.

  6. 6

    Check Doneness

Use a meat thermometer to check for desired doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the rib eye against the grain and serve immediately.
