Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeño

Slice the jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds for less heat, or keep them if you prefer a spicier drink.

  2. 2

    Juice the Grapefruit

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Infuse with Jalapeño

Add the sliced jalapeño to the pitcher and let it infuse for at least 15 minutes. The longer it sits, the spicier the drink will become.

  4. 4

    Strain the Mixture

After infusing, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the jalapeño slices, pressing down to extract as much liquid as possible.

  5. 5

    Combine with Tequila

Pour the strained mixture back into the pitcher and add the tequila. Stir well to combine.

  6. 6

    Prepare Glasses

Rub the rim of each glass with a lime wedge and dip into salt to coat the rim.

  7. 7

    Serve

Fill each glass with ice cubes, pour the spicy paloma mixture over the ice, and top with sparkling water. Garnish with grapefruit slices and lime wedges.
