Waffle Batter

Method

Prepare the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs. Then add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. Some lumps are okay.

Cook the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Pour Batter into Waffle Iron

Once preheated, lightly grease the waffle iron with a non-stick spray or oil. Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the center of the waffle iron (about 1 cup, depending on the size of your iron).

  3. 6

    Cook the Waffle

Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 4-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown.

  4. 7

    Remove and Serve

Carefully remove the waffle with a fork and serve immediately with your choice of toppings.
