Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Whisk Eggs and Sugar
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the large eggs with the granulated sugar until the mixture becomes pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

Chill the Mousse
Pour the mousse mixture into serving glasses or bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Prepare Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or whisk, whip the cream until soft peaks form.

Top the Mousse
Once the mousse is set, remove it from the refrigerator and top each serving with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
