Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Chicken
- 2
Cook Chicken
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and juices run clear. Remove from skillet and let rest before slicing.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 3
Prepare Alfredo Sauce
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir occasionally for about 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Add Cheese and Season
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
Combining Ingredients
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. Slice the cooked chicken and place it on top of the fettuccine.
Serving
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
