Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs using a sharp knife. This will help the ribs become more tender.

  2. 2

    Apply the Dry Rub

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribs. Wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 4

    Bake the Ribs

Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs with another piece of aluminum foil to keep them moist. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.

  3. 5

    Apply BBQ Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and uncover. Brush a generous layer of BBQ sauce over the ribs. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes uncovered, allowing the sauce to caramelize.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
