Method
Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
In a large bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 2
Cook the Pork
Place the pork in a slow cooker and add water. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- 3
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix in BBQ sauce to the shredded pork and keep warm.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 4
Make the Coleslaw
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all the ingredients are well combined.
- 5
Chill the Coleslaw
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the burger buns if desired. Spoon a generous amount of the pulled pork onto the bottom half of each bun, followed by a scoop of coleslaw. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
