Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Forming the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger buns.

  2. 2

    Chilling the Patties

Place the formed patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them maintain their shape while cooking.

Cooking the Bacon and Onions

  1. 3

    Cooking the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove bacon and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  2. 4

    Grilling the Onions

In the same skillet with a small amount of bacon grease, add the sliced onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized, about 10-12 minutes.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  1. 5

    Grilling the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.

  2. 6

    Adding Cheese

Add a slice of white American cheese on top of each patty after flipping. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 7

    Toasting the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by 2 slices of bacon, a generous amount of caramelized onions, and finish with a drizzle of S+S 1000 Sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
