Method

Fried Pickles

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the pickles well and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Set Up the Breading Station

In three separate bowls, place flour in one, whisk the eggs and buttermilk together in the second, and combine cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in the third bowl.

  3. 3

    Bread the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice first into the flour, coating it well. Shake off any excess flour, then dip it into the egg mixture, and finally coat it with the cornmeal mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully add the breaded pickles to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot.

Ranch Dressing

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.

  2. 8

    Chill the Dressing

Cover the ranch dressing and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
