Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, the halved lemon, and 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and immediately transfer them to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Set Aside

Once chilled, drain the shrimp and set them aside on a platter.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir until well blended.

  2. 6

    Season to Taste

Add salt to the cocktail sauce according to your taste preferences and mix well.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter and serve alongside the prepared cocktail sauce.
