Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, about 450°F (232°C).

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time based on your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 6

    Cook the Potatoes

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add salt and cook until the potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 7

    Sauté the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  4. 8

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic, remaining butter, and milk. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
