Method

Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Tomato Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Add Seasonings

Stir in crushed red pepper flakes, followed by canned crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and sugar. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Hot Honey Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan, combine honey and red pepper flakes. Warm over low heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until well combined.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Roll Out Pizza Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into your desired shape (round or rectangular). Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  3. 7

    Spread the Sauce

Spread a generous amount of the prepared tomato sauce over the surface of the dough.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese and Pepperoni

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, then layer the pepperoni slices on top.

  5. 9

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

Finish with Hot Honey and Basil

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle the hot honey evenly over the top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing.
