Egg Mixture

Toppings (optional)

Method

Preparation of the Egg Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, crack the 2 large eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Add 1 cup of milk, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the eggs. Whisk everything together until fully combined.

Cooking the French Toast

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

Place a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow the butter to melt and start bubbling, but not browning.

  2. 3

    Soak the Bread

Take a slice of the thick-cut bread and dip it into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Let it soak for a few seconds.

  3. 4

    Cook the Bread

Place the soaked bread slice onto the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side, until browned and cooked through.

  4. 5

    Repeat the Process

Repeat the soaking and cooking process with the remaining slices of bread, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Garnish

Once all slices are cooked, place them on a plate. Drizzle with maple syrup, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and add fresh fruit as desired.

  2. 7

    Enjoy

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious French toast!
