Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Prepare the Cauliflower
Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower and chop it into florets. Steam or boil the florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Make Cauliflower Rice
Drain the cauliflower and let it cool slightly. Then, using a food processor, pulse the cauliflower until it resembles rice.
- 4
- 5
Form the Crust
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Transfer the dough to the sheet and press it into a round crust shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- 6
Bake the Crust
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and firm.
Topping Preparation
- 7
Prepare the Toppings
While the crust is baking, slice the fresh mozzarella into rounds and wash the basil leaves.
- 8
Assemble the Pizza
Once the crust is finished baking, remove it from the oven. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the crust.
- 9
Add Cheese and Basil
Place the mozzarella slices on top of the sauce, then sprinkle with fresh basil leaves.
- 10
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle olive oil over the top and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Final Baking
- 11
Bake the Assembled Pizza
Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 12
Cool and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve while warm.
