Honey-Dipped Cornbread

Cayenne Parmesan Popovers

Orange Rosemary Biscuit

Method

Honey-Dipped Cornbread

  1. 1

    Prepare the batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

  2. 2

    Combine wet ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, honey, and melted butter until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix together

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 4

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Cayenne Parmesan Popovers

  1. 5

    Preheat and prepare

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a popover pan or muffin tin.

  2. 6

    Mix the batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, Parmesan cheese, cayenne pepper, and salt until smooth.

  3. 7

    Fill the pan

Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about halfway.

  4. 8

    Bake

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the popovers are puffed and golden brown. Serve warm.

Orange Rosemary Biscuit

  1. 9

    Mix dry ingredients

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. 10

    Cut in butter

Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter to cut the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. 11

    Add flavorings

Stir in the orange zest and chopped rosemary.

  4. 12

    Combine wet ingredients

Add the milk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  5. 13

    Shape and bake

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat to 1-inch thick, and cut into rounds. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Herb Butter Buns

  1. 14

    Activate yeast

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 15

    Mix the dough

In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and mixed herbs. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter, mixing until a dough forms.

  3. 16

    Knead and rise

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  4. 17

    Shape buns

Punch down the risen dough, divide it into equal portions, and shape into buns. Place on a baking sheet.

  5. 18

    Final rise and egg wash

Cover the buns and let rise for another 30 minutes. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

  6. 19

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
