Main Ingredients

Yuzu Miso Dressing

Garnishes

Method

Preparation of Peppers

  1. 1

    Prep the Shishito Peppers

Rinse the shishito peppers under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Trim the stems if desired, but do not remove them.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cooking the Peppers

  1. 3

    Blister the Peppers

Add the shishito peppers to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the skins are blistered and charred in spots.

Preparing the Yuzu Miso Dressing

  1. 4

    Mix the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, yuzu juice, honey, sesame oil, and water until smooth and well combined.

Serving

  1. 5

    Plate the Dish

Once the peppers are blistered, remove them from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle the yuzu miso dressing over the peppers.

  2. 6

    Add Garnishes

Sprinkle the furikake evenly over the dressed peppers, then top with bonito flakes for added flavor and texture.

  3. 7

    Serve Immediately

Serve the blistered shishito peppers hot as an appetizer or side dish. Enjoy!
