Filet

Bacon Herb Butter

Method

Filet

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filet

Remove the filet mignon from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Filet

Pat the filet dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Filet

Place the filet in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until a crust forms. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Filet

Remove the filet from the skillet and let it rest on a plate for about 5 minutes.

Bacon Herb Butter

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bacon Herb Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, cooked bacon (chopped), fresh parsley, fresh thyme, and minced garlic.

  2. 7

    Mix Well

Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. You can use a fork or a hand mixer for a smoother texture.

  3. 8

    Form the Butter

Transfer the butter mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Shape into a log and wrap tightly. Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.
