Preparation of Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew 2 cups of strong coffee using your preferred method and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Mix Coffee and Liqueur
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee with 1 cup of coffee liqueur and set aside.
Preparation of Filling

Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 large egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Slowly add 16 oz of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, mixing until smooth and well combined.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
Assembly

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them, and place them in a single layer in a 9x13 inch dish.

Layer the Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings.
