Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the flank steak with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and lime juice. Make sure the steak is well coated. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and place it in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer it more well done. Once cooked, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat.

Serving

  1. 5

    Assemble the Fajitas

Slice the rested steak into thin strips. Serve the steak and sautéed vegetables on warm tortillas. You can add toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or salsa as preferred.
