Method
Breaded Tilapia
- 1
Prepare the Breading Station
Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour mixed with salt and black pepper, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.
- 2
Bread the Tilapia
Coat each tilapia fillet first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with bread crumbs. Ensure each piece is well coated.
- 3
Cook the Tilapia
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the breaded tilapia fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Cuban Slaw
- 4
Prepare the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine shredded green cabbage, grated carrots, sliced red onion, and chopped cilantro.
- 5
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- 6
Combine and Serve
Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss until well combined. Let it sit for 10 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
Avocado Crema
- 7
Prepare the Avocado Crema
In a food processor, combine ripe avocados, sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt.
- 8
Blend
Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary by adding more salt to taste.
Tropical Pico

Prepare the Pico Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, finely chopped red onion, diced mango, and chopped cilantro.
- 10
Make the Dressing
Add lime juice and salt to the bowl and mix gently.
