Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into 2 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Stuff with Mozzarella

Make a small indentation in the center of each patty and insert 2 oz of mozzarella cheese. Seal the patty around the cheese.

Onion Topping

  1. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the yellow onions thinly. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions, sugar, and salt. Cook slowly for about 20-25 minutes, stirring often, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.

Hollandaise Sauce

  1. 4

    Make Hollandaise

In a heatproof bowl, whisk together egg yolks and lemon juice. Place over a pot of simmering water, whisking continuously. Gradually add melted butter while whisking until the sauce is thickened and creamy. Season with salt.

Onion Rings

  1. 5

    Prepare Onion Rings

Slice the large onion into thick rings. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add water to create a batter.

  2. 6

    Fry the Rings

Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Dip onion rings in the batter and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Burger Assembly

  1. 7

    Toast the English Muffins

Slice the English muffins in half and toast until golden brown.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Place lettuce on the bottom half of the toasted English muffin. Add the stuffed burger patty, top with caramelized onions, a generous drizzle of hollandaise sauce, and finish with a slice of tomato. Place the top half of the muffin on.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve immediately with crispy onion rings on the side.
