Method

Preparation of Cornbread

  1. 1

    Prepare Cornbread

If you don't have pre-made cornbread, bake it according to your preferred recipe or package instructions until golden brown. Let it cool, then crumble it into a large mixing bowl.

Cooking Vegetables

  1. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and celery, cooking until the vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In the bowl with the crumbled cornbread, add the sautéed vegetables, sage, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  2. 4

    Add Liquid

Pour in the chicken broth and beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add the eggs to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly moistened.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake Dressing

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and lightly browned.
