Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Collard Greens

Rinse the collard greens thoroughly under cool running water to remove any dirt or grit. Remove the tough stems and cut the leaves into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Chop the Onion and Garlic

Peel and chop the onion into small pieces. Mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Add Collard Greens

Add the prepared collard greens to the pot and stir well to combine with the onion and garlic mixture.

  3. 5

    Add Liquid and Seasoning

Pour in the vegetable broth, apple cider vinegar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine all ingredients.

  4. 6

    Cook the Greens

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for about 30-35 minutes, or until the collard greens are tender.
