Stuffed Bull Horn Pepper Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Prepare the Peppers
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bull horn peppers and remove the seeds. Set aside.
- 2
Make the Filling
In a bowl, combine the mozzarella cheese, chopped fresh basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and stuff the mixture into each bull horn pepper.
- 3
Prepare the Beer Batter
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add in the beer to form a smooth batter.
- 4
Coat the Peppers
Dip each stuffed pepper into the beer batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
- 5
Fry the Peppers
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the battered peppers until golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 6
Make the Pepper Agrodolce
In a saucepan, combine red wine vinegar, sugar, minced garlic, and olive oil. Cook over medium heat until the mixture reduces and thickens slightly, about 10 minutes.
- 7
Serve
Plate the fried stuffed bull horn peppers and drizzle with the pepper agrodolce sauce before serving.
