Prepare the Smoky Blackberry Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine fresh blackberries with equal parts water and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the blackberries break down, then strain the mixture to remove the solids. Allow the syrup to cool before use.

Ensure you have all the ingredients measured out and ready for mixing: Michter's Bourbon, Cocchi Torino, Amaro Averna, Benedictine, and the smoky blackberry syrup.
Mixing the Drink

Combine Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of Michter's Bourbon, 1 oz of Cocchi Torino, 1 oz of Amaro Averna, 0.5 oz of Benedictine, and 0.5 oz of the smoky blackberry syrup.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
