Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mussels
Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.
- 2
Prepare the Leeks
Trim the roots and dark green tops off the leeks. Slice them in half lengthwise and rinse thoroughly to remove any sand. Cut into 1-inch pieces.
- 3
Prepare the Broccoli
Trim the stem broccoli into manageable pieces. Set aside.

Steam the Halibut
In a steamer basket over boiling water, place the halibut fillets. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the fillets and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover and steam for 8-10 minutes or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- 6
Cook the Mussels
In a separate pot, add the rinsed mussels and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the mussels open up. Discard any that remain closed.

Char the Broccoli
In another skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the stem broccoli and cook for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally until charred and tender. Squeeze the remaining lemon juice over the broccoli.
