Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the French Toast Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the Bread

Dip each slice of French bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Let them soak for a minute.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the Applewood-smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the pan.

  4. 4

    Cook the French Toast

In the same skillet, add butter and heat over medium heat. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Bananas Foster Topping

In a separate pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add sliced bananas, brown sugar, and raisins. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bananas are softened.

  6. 6

    Flambé the Bananas

Carefully add the dark rum to the pan and ignite with a long lighter to flambé the bananas. Allow the flames to subside as the alcohol burns off.

  7. 7

    Serve

Plate the French toast, top with the rum-flambéed bananas and raisins, and serve alongside crispy bacon.
