Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye cap steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and chopped fresh rosemary. Make sure to massage the seasoning into the meat for better flavor.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your wood grill to a high temperature (about 450-500°F or 232-260°C). If using wood chips, soak them in water for 30 minutes before grilling.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the ribeye cap steak on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time according to your preferred doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Flavor

During the last minute of grilling, add butter and crushed garlic cloves directly on top of the steak to infuse flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest and Serve

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. Squeeze lemon juice over the steak before slicing and serving.
