Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash the Japanese sweet potatoes thoroughly and pierce them a few times with a fork. Place them on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until tender.

2

Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Mix until the sugar is dissolved.

3

Slice the Fresno Chili

While the sweet potatoes are roasting, thinly slice the Fresno chili peppers. If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds.

4

Combine and Serve

Once the sweet potatoes are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Cut them open and drizzle the soy sauce mixture over the top. Garnish with sliced Fresno chili, chopped scallions, a sprinkle of salt, and black sesame seeds. Serve warm.
