Crab Cake
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Crab Mixture
In a large bowl, gently combine the fresh blue crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
- 2
Add Breadcrumbs
Gradually fold in the breadcrumbs until the mixture holds together but is still light and fluffy.
- 3
Form the Cakes
Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter, and place them on a plate.
- 4
Chill the Cakes
Refrigerate the patties for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- 5
Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
- 6
Fry the Crab Cakes
Carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with lime-soy glaze.
