Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Broth

In a saucepan, heat the chicken or vegetable broth over low heat, keeping it warm but not boiling.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  3. 3

    Toast the Rice

Add the Arborio rice to the skillet, stirring to coat it with the oil and butter. Toast the rice for about 2 minutes, until it starts to look translucent.

  4. 4

    Add Broth Gradually

Pour in 1 cup of the warm broth and stir continuously until the liquid is mostly absorbed. Continue adding the broth, one cup at a time, stirring frequently and allowing the rice to absorb the liquid before adding more. This process should take about 18-20 minutes.

  5. 5

    Finish the Risotto

Once the rice is creamy and al dente, remove the skillet from heat. Stir in the remaining butter, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper to taste. Mix until the cheese melts and the risotto is creamy.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Serve the risotto warm, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
