For the Parker House Rolls
Method
Instructions
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C) with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 4
Shape the Rolls
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- 5
Preheat and Bake
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
