Popover Preparation

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Mix the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until well combined. Gradually add in the flour, salt, and pepper, whisking until smooth. Fold in the grated Gruyere cheese.

3. Prepare the Pan

In a popover or muffin pan, melt the butter in the oven for about 5 minutes until it is bubbling. Carefully remove the pan from the oven.

4. Pour the Batter

Divide the batter evenly among the wells of the hot pan, filling each about 2/3 full.

5. Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the popovers are puffed up and golden brown.

6. Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.
