Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lobster Tail

Preheat your broiler. Using kitchen shears, cut the top shell of the lobster tail lengthwise to expose the meat. Gently pull the lobster meat up and over the shell. Place the lobster tail on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Season the Lobster

In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons of melted butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture over the lobster meat.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Filet Mignon

Season the filet mignon with olive oil, salt, and pepper on both sides.

  4. 4

    Cook the Filet Mignon

In a hot skillet over medium-high heat, sear the filet mignon for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest.

  5. 5

    Broil the Lobster

Place the baking sheet with the lobster tail under the broiler for about 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and slightly browned. Brush with additional butter halfway through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the filet mignon alongside the broiled lobster tail. Drizzle any remaining garlic butter over the top and serve immediately.
