Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, mix the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
- 2
Breading the Chicken
In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour and cornstarch. In another bowl, beat the eggs. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, dip in the beaten eggs, and then back into the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels.
- 4
Prepare the Herb Aioli
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, fresh herbs, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread a generous amount of herb aioli on the bottom bun, place the fried chicken on top, add spicy pickles, and cover with the top bun.
