Main Ingredients

Method

Prepare the Roast

  1. 1

    Season the Prime Rib

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the prime rib roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. 2

    Roast the Meat

Place the seasoned prime rib on a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare. Let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

Make the Au Jus

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and fresh thyme. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Slice and Serve

Thinly slice the rested prime rib. Place the slices on pretzel buns. If desired, top with provolone cheese. Serve with warm au jus on the side for dipping.
