Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt, pepper, and any desired spices. Form the mixture into two equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Fry the Green Tomatoes

In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Dredge green tomato slices in cornmeal, then fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place the cooked patty with melted cheese. Top with fried green tomatoes, crispy onions, and a generous dollop of spicy aioli. Place the top half of the bun on and serve.
