Method

Prepare Coffee Mixture

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool. Once cooled, stir in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until dissolved.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Whisk Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

  2. 3

    Combine with Mascarpone

Add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, and gently fold until well combined.

  3. 4

    Whip Cream

In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  4. 5

    Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Soak Ladyfingers

Dip each ladyfinger in the cooled espresso mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the soaking and layering process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve

  1. 9

    Chill

Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.

  2. 10

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and add dark chocolate shavings if desired.
