Base Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and granulated sugar. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Stir in the vanilla extract into the milk and cream mixture until well incorporated.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until it is thoroughly chilled.
Flavoring the Sorbet or Gelato

Preparing the Raspberry Flavor
In a blender, puree the fresh raspberries until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, then fold the raspberry puree into the chilled base mixture.

In a blender, puree the fresh strawberries until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, then fold the strawberry puree into the chilled base mixture.

In a separate bowl, mix the unsweetened cocoa powder and chocolate chips into the chilled base mixture until well combined.

Pour the flavored mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
