Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently and form two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the skillet or grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burgers

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
